Horrorscope (Character Design)

I’m fascinated by astrology. I like mystic, dark legends and pictures. In a song I misheard Horoscope wit Horrorscope, I liked the Idea so much that I decided to design my own Horrorscope.

I started with a long research phase. Especially Horoscopes from other cultures were very interesting to me. I ended up designing a monster or hybrid character for every zodiac sign. I used the animals of the western and the Indian horoscope as my basic elements and combined them. For the zodiac signs which didn’t provide me with two animals, I just choose one or threw some human elements in. Another thing I did for inspiration was reading a ton of horoscopes (which is really tiresome) and wrote down all the bad characteristics.

I ended up doing two different notebooks, one with my idea generation and one with all the studies. But here I wanted to show the whole process for each zodiac (so please don’t get confused with the numbered pages, they don’t fit anymore (: )

This project is ongoing. I’ll add the missing characters as soon as I got a chance to finish them!
