pet portrait

Every Chance I get, I ask more experienced artist on tips for creature design. And the biggest one seems to be to draw, study, learn and breath animals. So that’s what I’ve been doing.Because of that, i thought I would be fun to do some pet portraits to change up the studying and train getting a likeness and character down.

I am also working on my digital skills, so I thought it would be fun to do the same portraits traditional and digital.I did the linear and the digital portraits in procreate. The traditional pieces are in watercolor on A6.

Of course I did portraits of our cats first. Loki and Date are a mix between Abyssinian and Bengal. You can really see the Abyssinian in their face. Loki and Dante are brothers and still so different.

This is Dante, he has a bit a wider face and some of his whiskers started to curl really cool! His fur is a bit darker as well.

This is Loki, his face is bit more narrow and his fur has more of a reddish tint to it. Sometimes when i come home from work, loki is waiting in front of the door. At first he starts running away before he realises it’s me. Then he comes running and is all purry.

And a dog portrait as well, this is Rocco.

If you would like a pet portrait or just a portrait of your favorite animal, shoot me a message. I would love to make one for you!
